![]() Shaffer Takes 410 Sprint Win At Attica; Hoffbauer Makes It Two In A Row in 305 Sprints; Missler Scored Late Model WinBy Brian Liskai
"I didn't want to see that last yellow. The car was good all over the race track and I thought I would have an advantage in lapped traffic," added Shaffer. In the 25-lap late model feature, Missler grabbed the early lead and pulled away as the real battle was for second between Jon Henry, Wayne Maffett Jr. and Rick Bond. The first yellow flew on lap 11 with Missler leading over Henry, Maffett and a closing George Lee. The car on the move was last week's winner Matt Miller as he had worked his way from 11th up to fifth by lap 12. The final caution flew on lap 13 and with a clear track ahead, Missler could look in his mirror and watch a tremendous battle for second. Henry, Lee, Maffett, Miller and Dusty Moore put on a great show for the fans as they continued to swap positions. At the checkered flag Missler had stayed out of lapped traffic and took the victory with Lee, Moore, Miller and Henry rounding out the top five. "I loved those yellows...I just wanted to stay in my line. That is a great field of drivers behind me and I knew I would have my hands full if we got to traffic," said Missler beside his York Fabrication, Taze D.J. Services backed #50. "We were terrible last week and everyone went to work and we changed a bunch of stuff on this car and it was a lot better." Just like last week, Zach Kramer bolted into the lead of the 25-lap 305 sprint feature. Junior Felver, Dustin Dinan and Nate Dussel battled for second. Felver's great run would end on lap 7 when he spun with Kramer now leading Dussel, Brad Haudenschild, Dinan and Todd Heuerman.Following a lap 15 caution, Kramer would have his hands full on the restart as Dussel began applying pressure. Haudenschild used the bottom groove to close as well and a tremendous three-car battle ensued. Unfortunately, Dussel and Haudenschild would get together on the front stretch on lap 18, with both cars flipping. Dinan who was running fourth, had front suspension problems and his good run ended as well. On the restart the running order was Kramer, Stuart Brubaker, Hoffbauer, Heuerman and Paul Weaver. Hoffbauer would drive around Brubaker into second on lap 20 and drive under Kramer for the lead with just three laps to go. Last week, Kramer and Hoffbauer made contact coming for the checkered for the win with Kramer ending up crashing. This week, Hoffbauer's car was just too strong in the middle of the track as he went on to take the win with Brubaker taking second, Kramer, Heuerman and Weaver rounding out the top five."I came here with a positive attitude tonight and tried to put last week behind me," said Hoffbauer beside his Gary Shellhouse Repair, Mountain Main Trading Post backed #82. "The middle of the track was very good for me tonight. The car just got better and better as the race went on." Attica Raceway Park will be back in action with the HD Supply Spring Nationals Friday and Saturday, April 10 and 11 with the O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions.
