After battling some of the greatest sprint car drivers in the world over the past two weekends, the spotlight in Northern Ohio returns to that of the Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title (F.A.S.T.) Championship Series presented by Engine Pro & PAC Valve Springs. Teams are gearing up for back-to-back nights of racing at Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway as the heat of the summer quickly approaches. The month of June features four F.A.S.T. events held over the first two weekends (6/3, 6/4, 6/10, 6/11) before the tracks host their annual Ohio Sprint Speedweek events.

Currently Byron Reed leads the F.A.S.T. Kistler Cup Point Standings by just 7-markers over Bryan Sebetto. These two drivers put on a show during the last F.A.S.T. event at Fremont Speedway on May 14th as Sebetto chased down Reed to take the lead late in the feature event. The sight of the Burmeister Racing #16 diving to his inside would awake "The Monclova Missile" and Reed would eventually reclaim the lead in lapped traffic. Reed would race off to his first feature win of the season and gain a few precious points in the championship chase.

A hard fought night by seasoned veteran Dean Jacobs still has him in the championship picture. Jacobs failed to transfer out of this heat race on a fast, one-groove track after the weather delay, but was able to join the main event after picking up the final transfer position in the B-Main. The Northwest Ohio Towing & Recovery, NAPA Truck Center backed #97 charged from 19th to finished 12th to escape a near catastrophic points night and now sits just 39-points out of the lead.

Brad Haudenschild, the Hot Shot Engine Heater F.A.S.T. Rookie of the Year points leader, has been a fan favorite to watch on the track and continues to gain respect from his 410 sprint car peers each time they push off. With a pair of top-5 finishes on his rookie resume already at Fremont Speedway, the Fredericksburg, Ohio native looks to improve on his performance at Attica Raceway Park in order to stay in the mix.

Image"The Ohio Gas Man" Phil Gressman jumped up to 5th place, but the Genzman Racing Enterprises entry still searches for their first top-five finish of the season in F.A.S.T. competition. The team will look to build upon its success against the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series just a few short weeks ago when Phil held off the Tony Stewart Racing tandem of Steve Kinser and Donny Schatz to pick up the Dash win and earn the pole position for that night's feature. The finish that they desired wasn't there at night's end, but a new stout bullet underneath the hood of the Ludwig Propane, Kear's Speed Shop backed #53 has them showing signs of improvement.

"The Sulfur City Outlaw" Kevin Lee (6th), 2009 F.A.S.T. Champion Craig Mintz (7th) and Mike Linder (8th) are only separated by 8-points entering this weekend. Teenager Kory Crabtree sits in 9th just 8-points behind Linder and just 14-points ahead of Whitehouse, Ohio's Todd Heller. Sitting outside of the top-ten currently are Chris Andrews, F.A.S.T. Rookie Contender Brad Bowman, Brandon Martin, Andrew Palker and Duane Zablocki. A lot could change as the Kistler Racing Products F.A.S.T. Championship Series looks to beat the weather and get in an action packed weekend of racing at two of the premier dirt tracks in the country.

Racing action kicks off this weekend on Friday, June 3rd at Attica Raceway Park. The F.A.S.T. Series hopes to complete only its second points night in 2011 at Attica due to Mother Nature, which is hard to believe since it's mid-season championship night at "Ohio's Finest Racing" speed plant with all four divisions in action. The double points advertised are only for track championship points for the 410s and does not apply to the F.A.S.T. Series points totals. Gates open at 5 pm with racing starting at 7:45 pm.

Saturday, June 4th is a special night at "The Track That Action Built." As Fremont Speedway celebrates its 60th anniversary it will welcome its third class into the Fremont Speedway Hall of Fame while dedicating the brand new Hall of Fame building that will showcase these legends and their memorabilia. This special ceremony takes place at 3 pm with gates opening at 2 pm. The festivities don't end there as the F.A.S.T. 410 sprint car division will be battling it out for $3,000 to win later that night! Racing starts at 7 pm.

F.A.S.T. SCHEDULE ALERT: It was announced last month that F.A.S.T. Series organizers and the officials at Attica Raceway Park have agreed to add Friday, July 22nd to the F.A.S.T. schedule due to the number of rain outs already this year. With this addition to the 2011 schedule it now leaves 15 point nights for the Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title as the driver's decide who will hoist the Kistler Cup at the end of this season.

PURCHASING A F.A.S.T. T-SHIRT COULD BE WORTH OVER $300: New this season, the FAST organization has secured a total of five “FAST Entertainment Packages” worth over $300 that are given away through the series t-shirt sales at the tracks.  This package includes dinner for two at Fat Fish Blue, two tickets to The Funny Bone comedy club, and overnight accommodations at The Hilton Garden Inn.  All are located at Levis Commons in Perrysburg, OH.  To have a chance to win one of these packages, fans must purchase a FAST t-shirt from the FAST Series table located on the midway at either track.  Shirts are sold at the table at each FAST event up until the B-main.  Prize packs are randomly placed in the t-shirt bags at this location only.  This promotion will end when all five packages have been claimed.
