(Attica, OH) The Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title (F.A.S.T.) Championship Series presented by Engine Pro & PAC Valve Springs opened up its 2011 race season before a packed house at Fremont Speedway last Saturday night after the scheduled opener at Attica Raceway Park was washed out. The crowd saw Tim Shaffer in Engine Pro Victory Lane with the $3,000 winner's check, but the fans left that night talking about another impressive run that happened at "The Track That Action Built."

The talk circled around the fast learning 410 sprint car rookie near the head of the pack named Brad Haudenschild. The R&B Enterprises backed J&J Auto Racing Chassis #10 started on the front row of the feature event, thanks to a stellar qualifying time, and battled with seasoned veterans liked Dale Blaney and Tim Shaffer for the majority of the 30-lap event. When the dust had finally settled at the 1/3-mile clay oval, the Fredicksburg, Ohio native, nicknamed "B-Haud", claimed a solid 2nd place run on a grueling cowboy-up style track. The impressive performance gives Haudenschild the early lead in the F.A.S.T. Kistler Cup point standings over Dean Jacobs and defending 2010 F.A.S.T. Champion Byron Reed.

Jacobs proved he’ll be a tough competitor in 2011 after posting a podium finish on Saturday and was one of the fastest cars on the track at the end of the event. The pilot of the Northerwest Ohio Towing & Recovery, NAPA Truck Center backed #97 has stated on numerous occasions that he’s having fun again in the seat of a sprint car. A calm, cool and collected Jacobs will be tough to beat on any given night in Northern Ohio.

Byron Reed's charge to finish 5th from his 17th place starting spot earned him the KSE Steering Hard Charger Award and extra valuable points in the title chase. The accumulation of 2 bonus points per hard charger award could be a determining factor in a tight points race at season's end. The Monclova, Ohio native also unloaded a new J&J Chassis this weekend and looked impressive each time he was pushed out.

Haudenschild also takes a 39-point edge in the Hot Shot Engine Heater F.A.S.T. Rookie of the Year chase over fellow 410 rookie Brad Bowman into this weekend's events. Bowman locked himself into the feature last weekend through a transfer spot in his heat race and was competitive in the A-Main racing to a 16th place finish.

The race for the Kistler Cup & the $10,000 winner's share of the series purse that's now worth well over $60,000 in cash & prizes continues this weekend at Attica Raceway Park on Friday, April 29th. The FAST series looks to tackle the 1/3-mile semi-banked clay oval known as "Ohio's Finest Racing" speed plant for the first series points race at that facility in 2011. Track officials will be opening the pit area up to everyone in attendance for a brief period after hot laps in order to tour the pits and meet some of the stars & cars that compete at Attica on a weekly basis. It is also Scout Night, which means any Girl or Boy Scout & Scout Leader in uniform will get in FREE! Gates open at 5 pm with racing slated to start at 7:45 pm.

F.A.S.T. returns to Fremont Speedway on Saturday, April 30th for Night #4 on the 2011 schedule. With many of the area travelers heading out to Central Pennsylvania to compete this weekend, a new face will visit Engine Pro Victory Lane. Gates open at 4 pm with racing action hitting the track at 7 pm.
