ATTICA, Ohio (March 31, 2006) - Rain showers throughout the early afternoon - with more predicted for this evening - have prompted the cancellation of Friday night's season opener at Attica Raceway Park. However, the rain will end late Friday, giving way to mostly sunny skies Saturday, and engines will roar to life at "Ohio's Finest Racing" on Saturday, April 1.

"Wee had showers around lunch time and more rain and thunderstorms are predicted around 8 tonight. That just doesn't give us enough time to get an already saturated track in shape for racing today," said ARP Operations Director Rex LeJeune. "But they're calling for better weather Saturday with temperatures in the 50s during the day and in the lower 40s or upper 30s Saturday night, so we'll get our opener in tomorrow."

The 410 sprints, 305 sprints and limited late models will be in action Saturday, April 1 for Jackson Hewitt Tax Service/Kevin Dick Certified Financial Planner Night. Gates will open at 5 p.m. with racing action set to go green at 8 p.m.
